The Umbrella Brigade, Inc. ("TUB") respects the privacy, dignity, and confidentiality of everyone in our community. We collect only the information reasonably necessary to provide services, coordinate programs, communicate with you, process donations, manage volunteers, and meet legal or organizational requirements.

Depending on how you interact with TUB, we may collect your name, contact information, household or program information, volunteer information, donation information, appointment details, photographs, and other information you voluntarily provide.

We use personal information to:

• Provide and coordinate mutual-aid services.
• Schedule appointments and deliveries.
• Communicate with neighbors, volunteers, donors, and partners.
• Administer programs and events.
• Process donations and maintain required records.
• Measure and report our community impact.
• Protect the safety and security of our organization and community.
• Comply with applicable laws and requirements.

TUB does not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We do not sell lists of neighbors, volunteers, donors, or community members.

We may share limited information with trusted service providers or community partners when reasonably necessary to provide services, operate our programs, process donations, or fulfill legal obligations.

We treat information about people receiving mutual aid as confidential. We do not publicly identify someone as a TUB service recipient without appropriate permission, except when disclosure is required or permitted by law.

TUB volunteers, staff, board members, and representatives are expected to protect confidential information and may face removal from service or other appropriate action for unauthorized disclosure.

TUB may photograph or record events and activities for nonprofit communications, fundraising, education, and community outreach. We will make reasonable efforts to obtain appropriate permission before intentionally using an identifiable person's image, story, testimonial, or name.

Participation in TUB services does not require you to participate in promotional photography or media.

We take additional care when collecting or sharing information about children. TUB does not knowingly collect unnecessary information from minors and will seek appropriate parent or guardian permission when required for identifiable photographs, testimonials, or other public-facing use.

TUB uses reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information. No electronic system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. If we become aware of a qualifying data breach, we will respond and provide notifications as required by applicable law.

You may contact TUB to request information about the personal information we maintain about you, request correction of inaccurate information, ask that information be deleted when appropriate, or opt out of non-essential communications.

Some information may need to be retained for legal, financial, grant, safety, or organizational purposes.
